  • The Sealy Optimum Destiny Gold Mattress is a great choice if you are looking for something to help keep you cool at night that provides a comfortable supportive feel. The Destiny Gold model is definitely a firmer mattress, but it has some give in it due to the nature of gel memory foam, as the base model of the Sealy optimum line, you don’t get any extra bells and whistles with this mattress, though it doesn’t really need them. Two things to remember as you read, This review will be updated as time goes on relative to questions we receive, and to different conditions outside (Las Vegas temperatures can vary pretty wildly), the other is that I am writing more about my experience with the mattress and gearing this review towards questions that our customer service team has been asked. So Lets Begin!

The Sealy Optimum Destiny Gold is the entry level model in the Optimum series. It has a Comfort Scale rating of 2 and feels extremely firm. I recommend this mattress to back and stomach sleepers who want a hard level of comfort and some of the best comfort materials Sealy has to offer.

The Destiny Gold features 2 inches of just under the quilt. This comfort layer does a good job of conforming to the curves of the body and uses to help regulate body temperature during the night. The 1-inch OptiSense Gel Memory Foam layer further enhances body contouring and pressure relief, but its firmness might turn many sleepers off. The 7" Gel OptiCore is supportive, durable, and adjustable base friendly. It also transfers little motion when one person moves, making it ideal for light sleepers.

While the very firm level of comfort of this mattress may not be for everyone, the Sealy Optimum Destiny Gold mattress is a great choice those who are looking for a mattress that feels as firm as possible.

The Queen size Sealy Optimum Destiny Gold is a great entry-level option for couples who want a firm mattress. It has a Comfort Scale rating of 2, a very firm score that is recommended for back sleepers and some stomach sleepers. Side sleepers should beware that a mattress this firm will likely be uncomfortable on the hips and shoulders. But for those who enjoy a firm sleeping surface and want to experience some of Sealy's best comfort materials, this is an excellent value.

The Destiny Gold starts off strong with a 2-inch layer of OptiCool Gel Memory Foam right beneath the quilt. This comfort layer effectively contours to the curves of the body and features Outlast Technology which helps maintain a comfortable temperature during the night. Next, a 1-inch layer of OptiSense Gel Memory Foam further enhances pressure relief and body contouring, but has a more substantial feel overall. At the heart of the mattress, the 7-inch Gel OptiCore provides long-lasting support, adjustable base compatibility, and transfers much less motion than innerspring coil systems.

In conclusion, the firm comfort of this model may not be for everyone, but the Queen size Sealy Optimum Destiny Gold mattress is a great choice for couples who want a firm mattress. It comes backed by a 10-year, non-prorated warranty, making it a very good investment.
